But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 14 He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter. If you are believer in Jesus Christ and have trusted Him as your Savior…
1. You are loved by the Lord
- because God chose you to be saved — from the very beginning!
- because the Holy Spirit set you apart to be his own and enlightened you to His truth!
2. You are called
- by the Gospel – no other means (Romans 10:17)
- that we might share in the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ!
THEREFORE
- Keep on standing firm (15)
- Keep loyal to the true biblical things you have been taught (15)
